KME at the SHK Essen and IFH / Intherm Nürnberg
Reliable partner in difficult times
26.01.2010, 17:36 hRenewable energy and energy saving are the central topics that KME will be promoting at the SHK Trade fair in Essen (10-13th March 2010) and IFH/Intherm in Nürnberg (14-17th April 2010). Visitors to the KME Booths will be informed - amongst other things - about the application of the thermally insulated WICU® Eco to solar thermal collectors in solar heating systems.
The product stands out for some decisive advantages such as temperature resistance and ease of installation. Moreover, it allows for a reduction of the assembly effort in the installation of hot water and heating systems.

The outer diameter of this EnEV-compliant insulated energy saving tube, with its low thermal conductivity (λ = 0.026 W/mK) is considerably smaller than conventional coated tubes. Thereby allowing the tube to be used in narrow spaces, whilst guaranteeing compliance to the required insulation values.
A further topic at the exhibitions concerns the advantages of soldering and extrusion as jointing techniques for sanitary plumbing and heating systems, when SANCO® or WICU® branded copper tubes are used. Both jointing techniques are characterised by a “free cross-section”, which does not practically affect the circulation within the tube system. For comparison, free cross-sections in multi-layer composite pipes or plastic tubes, can lead to a reduction in circulation by up to 50% due to compressing fittings. In the worst cases, as a consequence of the pressure decrease, the circulation pump requires almost twice the energy to move the heating water through the system than in copper tube installations. Accordingly, electrical power consumption and CO2 emission are higher.
The “KME Premium” award program, which was started two years ago, is going to be an additional theme at this year’s exhibitions. Registered local dealers can collect “KME Points” with the purchase of selected items. During the course of the SHK Exhibition in Essen, KME will personally award the participant with the highest score and as an “exhibition bonus”, new participants will receive extra points at the KME stand.
