DRIVEN BY SUSTAINABILITY

Garretti Associati designed a campus that consists of several offices, laboratories, a Kindergarten, dining room and auditorium buildings.

The Energy Park was fully devised to obtain a LEED certification, achieving the maximum level (Platinum). The architect thought to realize a facade that has the role of a 'brise soleil', using a mesh of prepatinated TECU® Patina copper sheets.

The decision to choose copper for the facade satisfies the concept of eco sustainability which was most important for the whole project. Copper is a sustainable material which allows 100% recyclability without any loss of its outstanding material properties. The copper mesh sheets were installed throughdirect fixing on a white steel frame. From inside the building it appears like a compact volume to protect from any view from outside of the building.

The copper mesh sheets are as well like a filter on the internal side offering a good transparency of the light. This makes continuity between the inner parts of the building and the green outside.
