TALENT SCHOOL

Tring Park School offers young people special support for their performing arts talents alongside preparation for an academic education. The listed main building in the Hertfordshire countryside has been extended with modern additions.

Behind its façade clad in TECU® Brass brand strips, the current new building provides accommodation for 70 students and two staff, four classrooms and a workshop for the adjacent theatre.

The materials used were selected with strict consideration for the natural surroundings and the listed existing buildings and grounds.

In keeping with the high demand for sustainability, the façade surfaces are clad with brass strips of the TECU® Brass brand. The harmoniously complemented screen elements are made from western red cedar grown in Great Britain.

Copper alloys are the new “highlight” façade materials: singular, extremely durable and distinctly “alive”. Brass is given particular quality in the form of TECU® Brass, a special alloy of copper and zinc. After initial matting, the original surface gradually changes to golden-brown that further develops to grey-brown to chocolate-brown anthracite. TECU® Brass is one of the 'TECU® Ecological Copper Alloys' and is therefore predestined for certified green buildings. All components of the alloy originate 100% from recycled material.
